Quartz Healthcare Acquires MVZ Rheine in North Rhine-Westphalia

WUPPERTAL, NRW, 01.10.2025 – Quartz Healthcare Germany announces the acquisition of MVZ Rheine, an established outpatient provider of radiology and nuclear medicine services in North Rhine-Westphalia. With this strategic transaction, Quartz Healthcare strengthens its presence in Westphalia and expands its network with an additional location.

MVZ Rheine was co-founded in 2004 by Dr. Maik Biedermann and Dr. Detlef Aumann. Since 2010, Dr. Patric Bell has been part of the shareholder group, and in 2018 Dr. Kerstin Brüggemann joined as a shareholder. Together, this team has significantly developed the MVZ and established it as a leading provider of outpatient diagnostics in the region. The facility is located directly next to the Mathias Hospital in Rheine, ensuring optimal accessibility for patient care. With a broad portfolio of radiological examinations and nuclear medicine procedures, MVZ Rheine performs approximately 45,000 examinations annually.

The state-of-the-art technical equipment includes 3 MRI scanners, 1 CT system, 2 mammography units, and 2 gamma cameras for nuclear medicine examinations. The experienced team of 4 physicians and 42 medical assistants, technologists, and administrative staff ensures high-quality patient care. With 4 statutory health insurance seats—3 in radiology and 1 in nuclear medicine—the MVZ serves a catchment area beyond the region and plays a key role in maintaining outpatient care across Westphalia and beyond. The service portfolio covers all relevant radiology and nuclear medicine examinations. Recently, MVZ Rheine became the first radiology practice in the Münsterland region to receive approval to participate in lung cancer early detection screening.

MVZ Rheine will remain at its current location, and the entire medical and technical staff will be retained. The new management will consist of Dr. Kerstin Brüggemann and Dr. Patric Bell, with Dr. Brüggemann also taking on the role of Medical Director. Dr. Maik Biedermann, co-founder of MVZ Rheine, will continue as Deputy Managing Director to ensure continuity. Dr. Detlef Aumann will retire as planned due to age, and we extend our sincere gratitude for his dedication and contributions.
