WUPPERTAL, North Rhine-Westphalia, 23 March 2026 – Quartz Healthcare Germany announces the acquisition of Radiologie Euskirchen. The well-established radiology and nuclear medicine practice will become part of Quartz Nordrhein MVZ GmbH, strengthening the growing healthcare network in North Rhine-Westphalia. Through this strategic partnership, Quartz Healthcare is further expanding its presence in the region.
Radiologie Euskirchen, founded by the partner doctors Dr Ulrich von Smekal, Dr Ulrich Hirschfeld and Dr Matthias Hackenbroch, has established itself as a leading provider of outpatient diagnostics in the region. Around 45,000 radiological and nuclear medicine examinations are carried out annually at the Euskirchen site. The wide range of services covers the full spectrum of MRI and CT diagnostics, as well as specialised procedures such as cardiac MRI, whole-body MRI, prostate MRI and breast MRI.
The state-of-the-art equipment, comprising two MRI scanners, one CT scanner, digital mammography and gamma cameras for nuclear medicine examinations, enables diagnostics of the highest standard. The experienced team of eight specialists and around 32 medical support staff ensures high-quality patient care.

Radiologie Euskirchen will remain at its current location, and the entire medical and technical staff will be retained. Birgit Stegemann will take on the new management role in her capacity as Chief Operating Officer. Dr Hackenbroch will be responsible for medical management. This structure ensures both continuity in the proven standard of medical care and seamless integration into Quartz Healthcare’s quality standards.
Radiologie Euskirchen will be integrated into Quartz Nordrhein MVZ GmbH and will in future benefit from the synergies and resources of the Quartz Healthcare network. Plans include investment in the ongoing modernisation of medical technology and the further development of the already comprehensive range of services.
