Quartz Healthcare acquires MVZ Rheine in North Rhine-Westphalia

WUPPERTAL, North Rhine-Westphalia, [1 October 2025] – Quartz Healthcare Germany announces the acquisition of MVZ Rheine, an established outpatient provider of radiology and nuclear medicine services in North Rhine-Westphalia. With this strategic transaction, Quartz Healthcare is strengthening its presence in Westphalia and expanding its network to include a further location.

MVZ Rheine was co-founded by Dr Maik Biedermann and Dr Detlef Aumann in 2004. Dr Patric Bell has been a partner since 2010. In 2018, Dr Kerstin Brüggemann joined as a partner. Since then, this team has significantly developed the MVZ and established it as a leading provider of outpatient diagnostics in the region. The centre is situated in the immediate vicinity of the Mathias-Spital Rheine and offers excellent access for patient care. With a wide range of radiological examinations and nuclear medicine procedures, the MVZ Rheine carries out approximately 45,000 examinations annually.

The modern technical equipment comprises 3 MRI scanners, 1 CT scanner, 2 mammography machines and 2 gamma cameras for nuclear medicine examinations. The experienced team of 4 doctors, 42 medical assistants and radiology technicians, and administrative staff ensures high-quality patient care. With four contract positions – three in radiology and one in nuclear medicine – the MVZ serves a supra-regional catchment area and thus plays a key role in maintaining outpatient care throughout Westphalia and beyond. The range of services covers all relevant radiology and nuclear medicine examinations. Indeed, the MVZ recently became the first radiology practice in the Münsterland region to receive authorisation to participate in lung cancer screening.

“With the acquisition of the MVZ Rheine, we are not only gaining an excellently positioned site in North Rhine-Westphalia, but also a highly qualified and entrepreneurial team with many years of expertise, explains Ludovic Robert, Chief Executive Officer of Quartz Healthcare Germany. “The MVZ Rheine is an ideal addition to our network and enables us to further strengthen outpatient diagnostics in this important region.”

The MVZ Rheine will remain at its current location, and the entire medical and technical staff will be retained. Dr Kerstin Brüggemann and Dr Patric Bell will take over as the new managing directors. Dr Brüggemann will also serve as medical director. Dr Maik Biedermann, co-founder of the MVZ, will ensure continuity in his role as deputy managing director. Dr Detlef Aumann is due to retire from the company. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to him for his dedication and achievements.

Dr Kerstin Brüggemann, the new managing director and medical director of the MVZ Rheine, is delighted to have found a partner in Quartz Healthcare that stands for continuity in the direction taken so far: “Quartz Healthcare follows the same guiding principles as we have in recent years: excellent medical quality, innovation and a focus on patient satisfaction. We are delighted that, together with a strong partner, we will be able to continue to ensure outpatient care in the region in the future.”
