Range of diagnostic services

All procedures used in modern breast diagnostics

From simple check-ups to complex investigations – we offer the full range of diagnostic services under one roof in Wuppertal.

Mammography

Two-dimensional chest X-ray – the gold standard for the early detection of microcalcifications and non-palpable lesions.

More about mammography

Tomosynthesis (3D)

3D layered images of the breast for a higher detection rate in dense tissue. Difference compared to mammography: fewer superimposition artefacts.

About tomosynthesis

Breast ultrasound

Ideal for young women with dense breasts and palpable abnormalities. DEGUM Level II certified. No radiation. A complement to mammography.

About breast ultrasound

Breast MRI

Highest sensitivity for soft tissue findings. Covered by health insurance for BRCA mutations and high-risk patients. Also available to self-paying patients.

About breast MRI

Core needle & vacuum-assisted biopsy

Minimally invasive tissue sampling under image guidance (ultrasound or X-ray) to confirm the histological diagnosis in cases of unclear findings.

Wire marking

Pre-operative marking of non-palpable findings to ensure optimal surgical planning – in close consultation with the Breast Centre.

Galactography

X-ray contrast imaging of the milk duct system in cases of abnormal discharge from the nipple.

Tumour board

Joint interdisciplinary case discussions with the Wuppertal Breast Centres – for optimal treatment planning.
